The unions get medieval

Hieronymus Bosch is one of The Knife’s heroes, a Dutch enigma from the late middle ages. Here is his Christ Carrying the Cross, from about 500 years ago, still looking strangely modern:

from The Museum of Fine Arts, in Ghent

And here are three of Ed “F***witt” Miliband’s new best friends:

Bob Crow
Tony Woodley
Derek Simpson

Bosch was said to be attempting to show the physical hideousness of Christ’s oppressors, partly as a metaphor for their internal cruelty, deceit, selfishness, pride and so on. I think he succeeds. However, I couldn’t help but be struck by the similarities with our three socialist heroes. Facially I mean, naturally.
